DINE AND DANCE! Belly Dancing and a Hearty Vegetarian Meal!

Belly Dance Class With a Hearty Egyptian Vegetarian Meal

Koshary by Misteka and AAA Physical Therapy are joining forces to offer the community a new Path to Wellness Program where eating healthy (Hearty Vegetarian) and staying active is both fun and delicious!

Join us for a unique Egyptian experience through Belly Dance, also known as "Oriental Dance". The dance consists of complex movements of the torso that focuses on core & hip muscles and is generally performed barefoot, thought by many to emphasize the intimate physical connection between the dancer, her expression, and Mother Earth.

This low impact exercise can help relieve back and joint pain, increase bone density, help lose weight and reduce stress levels. After class, you get to enjoy one of our delicious plant-based meals.

Classes will take place in the Community Room at Clarksville Commons on the second and fourth Saturday of the month at 11 AM. Meals will be picked up at Koshary inside the Common Kitchen, also at Clarksville Commons.

Introductory price of $9.99 for the first three classes:

Feb. 23

Starting March 9, the price will be $14.99.

The ticket price gets you:

- 10-minute healthy living tip by AAA Physical Therapy

- 45-minute Belly Dance Exercise Class

- A regular size koshary or salad bowl after class.

Please arrive 5-10 minute before 11AM on each date!

Space is limited; buy tickets in advance to reserve your spot.

RESOLUTION RUN PREDICTION RUN 8K - STRIDERS HOCO

New Year's Resolutions? Looking for a fresh start to your 2019 running plans?

Look no more!

Howard County Striders Resolution Run 2019 is for you

When: January 1, 2019

Distance: 8K

Where:

Jeffers Hill Neighborhood Center

Finisher closest to 11 am wins!

Registration is from 9am - 10:30am

A prediction run is entirely different from other races that you've run in the past. Rather than finishing first or running the fastest, the object of a prediction run is to finish as close to a certain time as possible. In the case of the Howard County Striders prediction runs, the goal is to finish as close to 11:00am as possible. One way the Striders prediction runs differ from many other runs is that you get to start whenever you want - whoever finishes closest to 11:00am wins. Oh, and one important thing, you CANNOT use any sort of timing device. Also, no baby strollers, iPods, headphones or animals.
After the run, enjoy refreshments in the neighborhood center while we announce the awards for the top 3 closest finishers.

2018 Walk to End Alzheimer's - Howard County

About Walk to End Alzheimer's

Held annually in more than 600 communities nationwide, the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s® is the world’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support and research. This inspiring event calls on participants of all ages and abilities to join the fight against the disease!

When you participate in Walk, your fundraising dollars fuel our mission, and your participation in the event helps to change the level of Alzheimer’s awareness in your community. The Alzheimer’s Association provides free, easy-to-use tools and staff support to help participants reach their fundraising goal. While there is no fee to register, we encourage participants to fundraise in order to contribute to the cause and raise awareness.

Take the first step by finding a Walk near you. Once you register, you will have access to a wide range of tools and support through your customized Participant Center. Join us and lead the way to Alzheimer's first survivor. Together, we can end Alzheimer’s disease!
